I first fell in love with photography when I was sitting around the dining table at my family cabin looking back at photo albums one summer. I can vividly remember my uncles breaking out into tears from laughing so hard because they remembered something from the exact moment that photo was taken. I can hear my aunts ooo-ing and aww-ing over baby photos from when us kids were little. It was at that moment I felt something I've never felt before. There was a little fire that sparked in my soul. I felt so happy, giddy, passionate, fulfilled, and cozy. There's a word in the Dutch language, "gezellig", that doesn't have a word in the English language but the best way to describe it is the way I felt then. I wish I could gift people that feeling because it's so...ethereal.

It was also at that moment I realized that photography was something magical. It was something that brought people together and connects people forever. How special is that? No matter how old you grow or how far you move, you can always look back at photos and feel connected to something or someone. That's the gift I want to give to people. That's why I started doing what I do. So at that point, I bought a little waterproof point-and-shoot camera that I took everywhere. My love for photos turned into a love for taking them as well and invested my education into learning about it. I graduated from an Art school studying film and photography and I've been giving the gift of photographs to people for about 7 years now.  Every shoot I connect with new people, every shoot I laugh and cry with people, and every shoot I love what I do even more.
